Two Months Old

Two months old!!  Where has the time gone??  You are getting so big!

Maddie loves to lay on your changing table...we always have to kick him off when it's time to change your diapers!

Evidence of your smile!

Meeting Anna Rose Corbett...born 2 weeks before you!

You are two months old!!  You have changed our lives little boy and we love you so much.  You are starting to get such a little personality.  We are seeing more and more of that smile of yours and it mealts our hearts each and every time.  Here are some things I want to remember about your second month!

At 7 weeks old you weigh 10lbs 1oz.  You outgrew your newborn cloths are now wearing size 3 months.  You also outgrew size 1 diapers you are now wearing size 2 diapers!!

You are starting to like tummy time more and more…you will put up with it for longer periods of time before you start crying!

You still love to be swaddled when you sleep…speaking of sleep…you sleep like a CHAMP!!!  Starting at about 4-5 weeks old, you started sleeping 7 hours!!  We are lucky!!  Auntie Laurie told us to have you eat, play and then sleep and this routine seems to be working like a charm…Thanks Auntie Laurie!

You are starting to like your baths…no more screaming.

You are still sleeping in the bassinet in our room and you take your naps in your swing.  You love to be rocked to sleep.  You also love your sleep giraffe…he plays white noise and it calms you down almost immediately.  The only thing is that you do not like when it shuts off….it always wakes you up.

We had to go to the doctor this month and get you medicine for your reflux…but now that you have it you seem much more comfortable.  You are also a pretty gassy baby and it causes you some problems sometimes.

Overall everyone says how happy you are.  Which is true…you are an angel.  You only cry when you need something or are uncomfortable.

We are so blessed to have you as our son!!  We love you so much and are so excited to watch you continue to grow!

Christmas Tree

Ted and I have a tradition of cutting down our own Christmas tree.  We went back and forth about whether we should do it this year, because Teddy is so little and it is so cold.  But we did it..a little different than years past but still special.  Teddy and I stayed in the car so I could feed him while Ted went out to search for the perfect tree.  When Teddy and I were done and Ted had found that perfect tree, we bundled Teddy up and went out to cut the tree down!!

Cutting down the tree seemed to be the easy part.  It seem to take us forever to decorate the tree...I guess that is life with a newborn.  Our star didn't even make it on the tree until just a few days before Christmas!

We always watch a Christmas movie while decorating the tree...this year it was Elf!

Similar to when we cut down the tree...Teddy slept through it all!

I realized that I never got a picture of the tree entirely decorated!  I also must say the lights did not look so lopsided in person.  This tree was a bit misshapen..we were going for tall and thin so it would not take up to much space.

Thanksgiving

We have so much to be thankful for this year!!  Teddy is truly a blessing.  We spent Thanksgiving in Maine, with Brian, Dana, Emily, Tyler, Andrew and Mimi and PopPop.  We had a great time!!  Mimi made a great Thanksgiving dinner!!  Ted and I even went out on our first date night!!  Mimi and Aunt Dana offered to watch him while we did a little black Friday shopping and then Aunt Dana encouraged us to go eat dinner out.  It was hard being away from him and he cried as soon as we got home as if to tell us he was mad we left him.  But we did okay and so did he!!

Emily made a great "first Thanksgiving" sign for Teddy:-)

Three Weeks Old

Teddy and I had our first day all alone this week!  We did pretty good, but were very happy to see Daddy come home :-)  This week was pretty low key, just adjusting to being home with Teddy alone during the day.  We went to the doctor on November 9th and Teddy weighed in at 8 lbs 6 oz...almost back to birth weight!!  The doctor was very happy with our progress!!  We go back in two weeks for his one month check up!!  Almost a month old already...wow time is flying by...

Maddie is getting used to having Teddy around :-)

Two Weeks Old

Two weeks old already!!  We have had more visitors this week and more milestones.  Ted and I are adjusting even more to caring for Teddy and have developed a little routine for ourselves.  Mimi was here most of week 2 and helping us as we adjusted.  We also had a special visit from Uncle Jim, Auntie Tara, Josh and Emma.  They made the long trek from Pennsylvania to come meet Teddy.

Emma was so excited to meet her new cousin - Emma loves taking care of the younger cousins.  She loved holding him and had the most amazing look on her face each time she held him.  She is going to make an amazing mother some day!!

Josh wasn't quite sure what to do when Teddy started to cry and enjoyed holding him when he was much calmer :-)

Teddy's first Halloween...we didn't end up getting him a costume, but put him in this little outfit instead.  We celebrated by going grocery shopping....our first official non-doctors appointment outing :-)

We went back to the Doctor this week on 11/2, Teddy weighed in at 7 lbs 14 oz...a little less than last week.  The Doctor recommended starting to feed Teddy 4 1 oz bottles throughout the day to help increase his weight as he should be back at birth weight by now.  We also need to start feeding him every 2 hours, with a 4 hour stretch at night.  Here is Ted feeding Teddy his first bottle.

We were a little more skilled this week at bathtime and were able to take some actual pictures :-)  He still hates bath time though!

Teddy and I had our first day all alone this week.  It was a success!!
